Since 1987, The Griswold Group has been helping employers, individuals, and families in Michigan make confident decisions about health insurance and employee benefits. We’re independent, locally owned, and we’ve been here long enough to know that coverage isn’t one-size-fits-all.
In April of 1987, after bringing his family back to his native West Michigan, Boyd Griswold and his wife Tish founded The Griswold Group Inc. Drawing on decades of corporate, military, and industry experience, they set out to do something straightforward: help other business owners use employee benefits to attract and keep good people.
For over 30 years, the team grew and evolved alongside the businesses and individuals they served. The healthcare landscape changed dramatically — regulations, carriers, plan structures — but the Griswolds’ commitment to their clients didn’t.
In the spring of 2004, Boyd’s daughter Sarah Hall joined the team. She brought a background in business and communications from Olivet College, and over two decades she’s built a practice centered on strategic planning, client education, and long-term relationships.
In April of 2016, Sarah purchased the remaining shares and became the sole owner. The company’s name stayed the same. So did the values it was built on.
Today, Sarah leads a team of five licensed brokers who collectively cover employer group benefits, individual health, and Medicare — with the same one-on-one approach that’s been the firm’s hallmark from the beginning.
The Griswold Group is an active member of the Creston Business Association and the SBN (Sustainable Business Network) in West Michigan. We hold a BBB A+ accreditation and are proud to support and connect with other locally owned businesses in the region.
Sarah is a volunteer and mentor in the broader Grand Rapids business community, with a particular focus on creating growth opportunities for emerging professionals.
